Here's something that's a bit out of the ordinary for this Wednesday, but was a question raised by golf.com amongst others. Anyone that has ever played this amazing game of golf knows that while it can be the most rewarding sport on the planet, but a single shot later and you could be feeling like it's the worst invention man has ever thought up. When those "bad days" on the golf course happen, controlling your reactions to those poor shots can be nearly impossible. Knowing this, whether or not golf pros should be able to vocally and verbally express their anger at the quality of their play is being debated, and it's being debated because of the actions and behavior of golf's most high profile golfer: Tiger Woods.

Tiger's Fireworks at British Raised Eyebrows

If you tuned in at all to the British Open, you know exactly what we're talking about. How Tiger performed is no secret, but what the cameras did their best to hide, was his reactions to that play. An errant drive led to him hitting his golf bag with his club. A missed putt lead to him throwing the putter and dropping the "f" word; a bad shot from the fairway and you heard any number of profanities. The question we're left asking, and apparently golf.com agrees, is why in the world is the PGA and their cameras doing their best to hide these reactions? I'm sorry, but the one thing I took home from the movie Happy Gilmore, is that if golf could use one thing, more than all other things, it'd be Passion. Golf needs more fire, more excitement, more drama and yes, more REactions. Golf needs every golfer to want to win so bad that one bad shot leads to a 5-iron soaring through the air.

We React, Why Can't They?

If you think to the last time you played, the people you played with and the other golfers populating the course, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone Not reacting to their play. It's natural to want to play well, it's natural to react when you don't. Why then are we expecting those with the most skill in the world to not react when they don't display that skill? I understand the need to censor the words being said, but why hide the emotions themselves?

PGA Tour Needs More Fire

Our advice: Let golfers be human too. The PGA Tour needs an infusion of emotion, passion and fire. Stop worrying about the reactions, stop filtering the drama and let golf be even greater.

I suppose when you're the best golfer the world has ever known, and might ever know, when a few rounds of golf get away from you, people begin to speculate, to discuss, and to wonder what is wrong with you. What is going on with Tiger Woods that is causing him to play so, well, horribly as of late, why did he miss the cut at the British Open, and when will he turn things around? Looks like Tiger Woods answered just about every speculation, every question and ever rumor with his play over the last two rounds at the Buick Open. What's wrong with Tiger? Nothing.

Battles Back from 8 Strokes Down

That's right, despite being 8 strokes down after his first round play, which I'm sure gave rise to even more speculation and concern, Tiger battled back and returned for Round 2 to shoot a -9, 63 for the day, catapulting him into the Top 3 and setting him up for his performance yesterday in Round 3. How do you follow up a Round 2 63? If you're Tiger Woods, you shoot a Round 3 65 and take a one shot lead at the Buick Open, a tournament you've won before.

Tiger Holds 35-1 Record Leading After 54 Holes

So today, Round 4 begins and Tiger goes into it with a one-stroke lead. How will he do? I suppose we'll have to wait until 1:50 local time to find out, but keep this in mind: When Tiger goes into the final round of a tournament in the lead, he's 35-1. Yes, 35-1 and that 1 loss came all the way back in 1996 when he was 20 years old. Confidence, it seems, will be the last thing Tiger will be left looking for.

Tiger Never Left

So, if you're not tuning in today, to see Tiger Woods play like, well, Tiger Woods, you're seriously missing out. It's great to see the old play again, the fist pumps and the long putts, the great chips, the blasted drives. Tiger is back, but the big question is, did he ever leave? Ask him, I bet you can't guess his answer.

I don't know how many lives this guy has in him, but when it comes to his life in the PGA Tour, someone out there is certainly looking out for John Daly. Looks like John Daly is also looking out for his own PGA Tour life, and has been telling those in the 'know' that he's committed to bringing his game back to the Tour and staying there for good. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen, but in light of the recent negativity that has been surrounding the guy, we can only keep our fingers crossed.

Daly Gets Sponsor Exemption

That said, John Daly has indeed received a sponsors exemption to play in the Canadian Open, which takes place at the Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario, Canada from July 23rd to July 26. Yes, that's the week after the British Open, which Daly might also play in as he has an exemption their as well, being a former champion. Whether or not he plays, or better yet, whether or not he shows UP to play, we'll have to wait and see, but I truly hope Daly IS back on track and IS committed to getting his life, and golf game back in order.

Daly On European Tour

I was unaware, that Daly is currently in the middle of a three-week stretch on the European Tour, and he'll actually end that with the British Open. You might remember, his not-so-triumphant return to the PGA Tour took place at the St. Jude Classic back in Memphis. Daly ended that tournament tied for 59th place. Not exactly where he, or his supporters, wanted to see him.

Daly Always Worth Rooting For

How will he do now? We'll see, but it's John Daly, no matter what, we'll be entertained, and no matter what, we'll be rooting him on.

Today I was browsing around and I found that the brains behind golf.com asked all of their Twitter followers a pretty interesting and important question: "Does anyone think that equipment news/features could enhance TV coverage of golf events?" Apparently the responses that came in ranged from No way, as it'd interfere with the play, to absolutely as it'd enhance the sport greatly. That got us here at GolfToImpress thinking, and we're inclined to agree with the "YES" side of the debate.

Equipment Changes Everything

When it comes to golf, more than almost any other sport, the equipment that the players are using makes a huge amount of difference to the way they strike the ball, the way they play a course, the outcome of their scores and yes, their sponsorships. The great thing about golf equipment is, while us amateur players might not be able to get our hands on the exact equipment they are playing, we can come really, really close depending on how much money we decide to spend. The ability to see exactly who is playing what, as they are playing it, would greatly enhance the golf tournament watching experience.

Real-Time Equipment Highlights?

Imagine being able to see a little graphic at the bottom of the screen when each player was hitting that told what club they were using, the brand, the shaft, the loft and even the different tweaks they had on it. Imagine being able to know exactly what ball, driver or putter was being used to win a championship for each different player. How would this be a negative thing in the game at all?

What Do You Think?

The bottom line is, it's an extremely interesting question that needs more answers. What do you all think? Should major golf broadcasts be spiced up and include gear and equipment news and updates while they play? What is your opinion? Sound off...
