Fourteen HI-610 Tour Spec Driving Iron Spotted!

Fourteen Golf PrototypesMatt Kuchar was spotted carrying a New Prototype Hi-610 TS Driving Iron by Fourteen Golf at the British Open this week.  Two versions are expected a standard Hi-610 and a Hi-610 TS (Tour Spec). Fourteen Golf is not sure if both models will make it to the retail market but  stay tuned for more pics and info as they are now in play on the JPGA tour as well.

It's been a while since Fourteen Golf has released a new driving iron design their last was the HI-550 and HI-660 which both have been phased out for quite some time.

Based on the looks of the spy pic via Golf.com it appears this version has a more rounded sole and will of course feature a hollow body most likely with tungsten weighting inside.

Let's hope we see a resurgence of the driving iron.  In my opinion there are far to few on the market in recent years.

they are bitch to hit good and proper so all that new tech makes that easier probably at the expense of feel and workability i guess which kinda defies the whole purpose. like whos making and whos gaming 1 irons these days ? @kenneth t.:

That’s why these guys are pros and I’m nervous going below anything below a 4 iron most of the time.

same here. even for pros i dont think its peanuts. Hogan wrote himself in his book that 1 iron is very hard club to play. he had one and played it extremely well like everything else but after it got stolen he never replaced it. these days, that 1 iron would be more like a standard modern 2 iron in terms of loft at least. these new clubs got the tech to make it easier to hit and punish less on misshits i guess but if you wanna play modern 2 iron blade that gonna cost you moving a lot of dirt to get to it.@Winston:
