R9 Forged Irons
Taylormade Japan has some new releases prepared for announcement at the 2010 Tokyo Golf Show Including one we have all been waiting for the R9 Forged Irons.  There are two new R9 labelled irons coming to the Japan market both are forged.  Most people were expecting only one forged model but Taylormade Japan has stepped it up offering another model that we consider more user friendly for the player yet not game improvemnt by any means.

The standard R9 Forged Iron is made using a soft cast 17-4 stainless steel body with a soft forged mild S25C face and neck and features an undercut cavity with sound management in the 3-7 irons to increase forgiveness. The R9 Forged standard model feature an #8 to PW that uses  a one piece forged construction.

The target player for the standard R9 Forged model is mid- low handicap golfer  while at the same time Tour Pro's in Japan do intend to put this set into use.  Several JLPGA women will be putting it into play within the next few events in Japan.

The R9 Forged TP is the model we have all been waiting for, it's a limited edition release that is set to launch in March. TourSpecGolf has a couple of demo irons on the way and will be posting images and video live from the 2010 Tokyo Golf Show only a few weeks away.  The R9 Forged TP was designed with the help of Nick Faldo and other top Japanese golf pro's.  It is supposed to become Taylormades flagship professional use iron on the JPGA tour.

No word if it will ever see the U.S shores but for those interested TourSpecGolf will have them available for Pre Order very soon! The official release of the R9 TP Forged is early March 2010, while the R9 Forged is slated for May of 2010.

And while we are on the topic of new TM releases, we've got more pics of all the new releases below:
